How to Do a Secret Santa

18 November 2020 year

The point of "Secret Santa" is to make Christmas shopping easier and funnier. It involves a group of people exchanging names for a secret gift exchange. So, how to do a Secret Santa? Follow these simple rules below to organize this interesting event.

1. Write the names of everyone participating on a piece of paper. If the group is larger and people don't know each other that well, it is a good idea to get people to write their names/age and some distinguishing interests such as "Alice, 27. My hobby is painting" or "Tom, 57. I like fishing". If the group is small and people know each other well, only the name of the person is necessary.

2. Toss the names into a bowl.  Place all the folded names into a bowl and mix them around a bit so that the names are shuffled.

3. Set a price limit. Select a price limit in the ‘happy medium’ range that you know everyone in the group can afford.

4. Draw names. Work around the group, giving everyone the opportunity to draw a single name randomly out of the hat. Keep the names folded and hidden until everyone has drawn. If someone draws their own name, have them redraw.

5. Purchase a gift. The next step is to purchase a gift (within the price range) for the person whose name they drew from the cap. It’s time to choose a gift! Be creative. Our shop will help you to make the best choice. Check our Funny Gifts collection. You will find the best gift for everyone on your list.

6. Exchange gifts.  It’s time to have fun! Wait until everyone is ready and continue keeping your gift recipient a secret until everyone is given a ‘go’ to start exchanging gifts. At that point, find the person to match the name you drew, and reveal your gift! Remember to have fun :)
